I have a serious 2 Tivo brand and recently purchased an Ematic digital converter box did all the setup for the antenna but set box does not have an IR code is there any ideas or inputs besides going through the whole list one by one, of the 5 digits list a b and c options and that's anybody know what the one or two channel digits option is about??
I have had Tivos since 2001 so I know a little bit about them
I don't want to try the channel search trick since it might erase my tv code

Only certain OTA converter boxes work on Series 2. If the brand is not listed in Tivo, then it does not have the code.

You might want to look at upgrading to a Roamio OTA ($349.99 right now on Amazon).

You might want to look at upgrading to a Roamio OTA ($349.99 right now on Amazon). It is a digital DVR whereas the Series 2 is analog. The hard drive is 1TB and if you need more space, just swap out the internal for up to 3TB if you do not want to hook it to a computer (up to 8TB this way.)

FYI, This is a 4 tuner Tivo DVR with lifetime (now called All-In.) This will never require the digital converter box.

The converter box only forces any Tivo (or other TV/DVR) to be a single tuner and converts the digital signal to analog.
