Just tried VideoRedoPlus6-trial version, and it was unable to open Tivo files. Any other way to edit?

How did you download the files? If you used KMTTG, you could have them decrypted.

I have been using Tivo Desktop for years, but suddenly the videos won't play in Windows Media Player, as they have for years. These are TCM movies.

Most likely they are MPEG4 recordings, so you would need to use Faster Transfers in Tivo Desktop, TS downloads in PyTivo Desktop, KMTTG. Otherwise, you would only get the sound and no picture. The file size would be much smaller than the MPG2 files.

It can it just needs the TiVo DirectShow filter installed to work. You need to install pyTivo Desktop and check the box or install TiVo Desktop to get the filter.
