I've seen this type of conflict before and have never quite knew what TiVo was trying to tell me:

I attempted to record an NFL game tomorrow at 8:30pm, with 1 hr padding. TiVo responded:

Will NOT record:

Chuck overlaps with Prison Break...

The conflict is pretty clear. 3 programs trying to record at the same time.

Question:

Which one of the programs will not record if I choose to record the NFL game?

Thanks!

It says it won't record Chuck since it overlaps with Prison Break if you go ahead with scheduling the recording.
So Prison Break is a higher priority than Chuck.

It should indicate in the confllict menu which program will not be recorded.. The top entry which is as mentioned above, a lower priority recording...

I usually check the "To Do List" for errors...

Or schedule the recording to be deleted at another time..

It will not record Chuck.

The order of programs on the Season Pass page determines what programs get recorded in the event of a conflict. The programs at the top of the list are the highest priority.

Generally, it is best to move Season Passes for the big four (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC) programs to the very top, because those are not repeated in many cases. Put your Season Passes for cable channels below that, since those programs are almost always repeated.

I'd have to look at my To Do List to be sure but my Tivo picked up an airing of Chuck on the SCI-FI channel at 11 PM on Sundays. So it looks like SCI-FI is airing it also.
