Drive cloning process

My 3tb Bolt drive seems to have failed since I cant restart the box and I get all 4 lights, I have ordered a new drive but went with 2tb Toshiba.

What is the process to safely and properly attempt a clone to the new drive? The Bolt drive wasnt maxed out, I would have to confirm but it should be under 2 TB, obviously if it's over I know I cant do anything.

Do I have to do any sort of scans on the bad drive first etc? Any recommendations for windows software to use? Anything else I need to do?

If the old drive has "failed" & you are just replacing it in the box with the new one, why are you asking about cloning it?
Drop in the new drive, start it up & redo guided setup & you're good to go! Obviously since the old drive failed, you WILL also have to reprog any SP's & other scheduled recordings, since those are on the HDD as well.

I want to attempt to recover my shows and settings. I would settle for just being able to see what was on the drive so I can make a list of what I need to find elsewhere
You cannot "clone" a drive to a smaller drive - to clone something means to make an identical copy, and 2TB can never be identical to 3TB.
