Have Bolt VOX about 3 years old. DL use to be easy using the IP address for unlocked programs.

Am getting near capacity and want to offload. I also use VideoReDo and edit and save i.e. AGT maybe I really want to keep 20 min of 2-hour show. I save edits on PC.

About a week ago for a 2GIG AGT show, it downloaded what seemed to be a leader of about 350k and just stops. Retried many times.

Now every time I log in a select the show I get:

Server Busy

download in progress

Or, I click on a different title not already tried and nothing happens. It is like something is stuck

When this happens nothing is being recorded or anything else going on. I turned off the auto skip thing reading it calls home periodically. Have rebooted both Tivo and PC. I get the same results trying to download to a different PC.

Unfortunately have done that many times before trying and still get the error

However, after I get a server busy error if I refresh Chrome, it will download but only about a 350MB header, not the 2GB show and can not be opened.

Check the To Do List. Are there any transfers listed there? If so cancel them then reboot again. Also you might try physically pulling the plug and not just picking reboot from the menu.

If that doesn’t work then I'm stumped. You could try pyTivo Desktop instead of using the web UI but if the server isn’t working it likely won’t help.

When I look at To Do don't see anything in progress. However, lots of red x's for lack of disk space which is why I am trying offload some programs. But that may be the issue. Am at about 70% space used and lots of to-dos.

QUESTION since I watch and clear out programs so not going over about 75% each day will Tivo when has space record the x'd programs (un x them) as I keep making more space available?

Make sure you don't have any "Keep Until I Delete" recordings in your My Shows list. They may prevent Tivo from scheduling the recording of new programs.

But I have maybe 100 Keep until delete recordings been too busy to see but want to. That is why I am at 70% and want to offload non-protected save till deletes.

Yeah, this is why the Tivo is no longer recording. It can't assume that you will clear out enough space manually in order to be able to record when the time comes.

Getting to "Now Playing" by IP still works for me in Firefox.
Perhaps this is a Chrome issue.
This is a from Bolt Vox on TE4.
Was able to download any of the shows listed.

It is still recording current programs. Its only those scheduled like next week on the TO-Dos that have red X's. What confused about is if by the time of the next week program still has say 70% since I keep up with many current programs and delete (I save lots of network news, cnn, Marketwatch but delete it each day). will it now know it has space.

The first X is on the 9/7 so will see if the X goes away if I keep up deleting current shows each day so by 9/7 it will still be at about 70%- so should be able to record since it records all now at 70%, if that is not confusing.
I have about a 3-year-old Bolt and may replace it with a much higher capacity Edge via Weaknees.

I have had Tivo since almost the beginning and hard drives keep going out after a few years and lose everything not offloaded.

Red x in the To Do list is most times from a conflict with other shows scheduled to record at the same time.

Go into 'Tuner Diagnostics' (I don't know the exact title; you don't state whether you're on TE3 or TE4 and that's one of the FIRST things folks need to mention when they're asking for help ). Is the channel of the show you're attempting to download from MPEG2 or H.264? H.264 will *ONLY* download the audio if you use Program Stream mode. You must use Transport Stream. Then, be wary of TS Sync Errors. LOTs to read in my 'Historic Archive of TS Sync Error' posts on TCF.

You've gotten the TiVo Unit Server 'confused'.

Ah. Sounds like TE4. AutoSkip has nothing to do with downloading. (I never read about a 'calling home' problem - do you have a LINK?

KUID has *NOTHING* to do with downloading a show from a TiVo Unit to a PC. :thumbsdown:

My Roamio Basic has been at 100% for days now as I offload to other TiVo Units and then download to my PC to save on my NAS.

Yeah, this is why the Tivo is no longer recording. It can't assume that you will clear out enough space manually in order to be able to record when the time comes.

I tried doing it on Firefox and didn't get the server busy but only downloaded 172m of a 1GB show.

The x's are not due to conflict but says no disk space since it assumes all my new scheduled won't be deleted. I have 70% utilization on a 1TB Bolt

Yes, I have for years downloaded and edited to just the parts I want to keep and they play fine after converting to various formats which I can play on almost any media player.

My best guess is worked fine for years until maybe a month ago. A Tivo update may have broken it? Don't know. Prior to using IP address used for maybe a decade Tivo Desktop no longer works.

I had forgotten long ago I tried pyTivo but using IP seemed easier for an unrecalled reason. I just loaded pyTivo for Desktop. It sees Bolt and lists my shows....

Hit download for 1 show and failed both using PS and TS... tried to understand log. Updated to latest version....

SUCCESS!!!! Using TS format it WORKED. And Video Redo opened it fine.

So pyTivo is the hero. Thanks for all the other attempts to help.

I still may get a 3TB Edge but at least can offload some shows.

Are you downloading TS or PS? Are you cable and if so is the show MPEG4 (Comcast for example) in which case you have to download in TS format?
