I believe one would have to "hack" one's DirecTV Tivo in order to give it networking capability. You might want to look for something called the "Zipper."

This may be a common question, but since I did not see the thread thought I would ask, I am trying to copy some of my recorded programs to my computer and transfer them to DVD. It seems like this should be simple, but so far I have not had much luck. Any suggestions?

If your PC has a video capture card, then just use an analog transfer.
