The Tessalecta as the cheat wasn't all that clever, but I loved how they revealed it.
Overall I loved it, but I wish I could learn more about The Silence's origins...

Also a little sad for longtime viewers when the Doctor heard of the death of an old friend...
Didn't quite catch if "Fall of the 11th" is referring to the 11th regeneration, but I'm assuming that's what it is.

Very clever. The Doctor lies. Steven Moffat is playing with paradoxes again.
As soon as the doctor met with the tessalecta at the beginning I knew that was how he would fake his death. "a machine that can be anyone" or so many words.
But I'm disappointed that all other tessalecta interactions made it seem robotic an lifeless but when the doctor was using it, of course it was fluid and convincing.

I am a bit surprised. I expected the name of the episode to be a red herring, but it doesn't appear that was the case; it seemed that they really did get married.
When Moffatt worked into the show the suggestion that the Doctor whispered his name to River, it sort of seemed like he was toying/taunting with the fans, since it was the fans who theorized that's what River whispered back to the Doctor in the Library. Of course, since that's NOT what he whispered to her... we still don't necessarily know what she whispered back to him.
It is interesting that he's finally working the title of the show into the plot of the show... after almost 50 years. I bet that "the question" will be brought up, but remain unanswered throughout the next series (2012-2013) so that they can answer it in a big 50th anniversary special episode.

They didn't really get married because that also was in the aborted time line. Also the binding of hands is a part of the ceremony and River Song was tied to a robot.

River Song is travelling the Doctor's time line backwards. She married him for real in the future in a time line that wasn't aborted.
In the scene where River Song said she was the Doctor's wife she has just climbed out of the Byzantium.
What makes it aborted? Just because River described it that way? The premise is that time stopped when there was a paradox at a set point. This happened during the time stoppage. So it could not be a timeline. Also events flowed from this stoppage into the timeline that turned out to be the one the show follows.In an aborted time line in a world that never was.
Besides, aborted timelines is just a convenient storytelling convention. It makes things less complex for the author and the audience to deal. If you accept that alternate timelines could be started, there is no logical reason that once a timeline is started that it would ever end. Once you abandon it, it just becomes inaccessible, making it easier to think of it as nonexistent.

I'm not sure I was satisfied by this. I haven't really enjoyed any of the season finale's in the new Who, it seems like they try to wrap up too much too fast. The whole concept of "telling a story while in the alternate timeline" was kind of cheap. The Tesalector (sp?) was rather predictable given the "previously on". Don't get me wrong I like it but it left me wanting more.
I loved the way he marked his arm, it took me a little while to figure that out, the death by a thousand skulls was scary and at times it was terribly exciting. But I felt slightly let down by the reveal and how fast it happened (a common complaint this season). It's kind of like telling us that the whole season was really for nothing.
On a separate note, do you think they'll ever have any of the old style multi doctor's stories in new Who ?
