I have found that the episodes shown so far on SciFi channel have been more SF and more enjoyable than last year. I wonder if it is because there was a lot of back story on Rose and less Doctor Who weirdness.

Exactly--they're on the right in odd-numbered Yorks.
I thought that was the 16th New "New York"...

16 is an even number, btw :p

(don't say it...it will just end up in my sig!) :D

The guy who hated the interracial stuff's head probabably exploded when we found out that humans and cats were interbreeding.

The crab monsters were pretty pathetic.

How does that crab people song go again?

I liked this episode quite a bit. I agree with sieglinde, this season has been a lot more science fictiony, in a good way, so far.

I like the episode and loved the Doctor hopping down thru the vehicles. For some reason I was reminded of Ferris Bueller running thru the neighborhood to get home before his parents...

It's great to know in the future the whole city of New York will have crabs! I guess the future isn't that different from the present!

Why do Human/Cat offspring just look like kittens with no human characteristics? I guess evolution happens fast in the future!

Well, that woman wasn't 100% human, since that flap of skin from the second episode was "the last true human". It's possible that she was already part cat, but had a recessive cat gene. The children then came out all cat.

Or, like bicker said, maybe that's just the type of question not to ask about a Doctor Who episode. :)

I was very surprised when the story ended. It seemed to really fly by quickly. Loved the idea of the self sustaining highway.

I was still confused. How the heck the crabs get involved in it?

I really enjoyed this one. I've never cared much for Doctor Who in any of its incarnations. I barely watched the last two seasons of the new show. However, this season has kept me interested and engaged. I'm looking forward to the remainder of it. I liked the episode last week but I liked this one even better!

(1) The "crabs" are Macra, a villain first introduced in the sixties. No particular reason for having them here (other than nostalgia). However, why create a new "alligator in the sewers" when an old one will do?

(1a) Whatever you do, don't go looking for the stills of the original Macra. The episodes themselves no longer exist.

(2) The kittens will grow very quickly. There was a subtle bit a CG, where a "meow" became "MaMa." It actually makes some twisted sense evolutionarily that the human aspects would come later.
