I can't believe it's Sunday and there's no thread for this episode yet! I've searched to no avail. Great stuff! I loved it! How long do we have to wait for the next season?

So, we now know the identity of "The Face Of Boe".

Well, S4 won't air in the UK until spring, so give it a few months for it to appear on SciFi.

Then we will have to wait until 2010 for S5
Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool, actually.
Loved it. I felt so bad for the Doctor being tortured like that for an entire year.

And the least Martha's mom could have done would have been to apologize to The Doctor for the way she treated him.

Now we have to wait 2 and 1/2 months for the Christmas Special! I've decided this season I will watch when they come out in the UK. I won't be able to wait for Sci Fi's delay...

But can you wait for SciFi's airing in order to comment on the episodes on here? ;)

That's why I said after this season-I'm not going to wait for them to air here!
I'm trying to remember what was missing from the original BBC version I watched months ago. After the timeline was restored, didn't Martha hook up with the resistance fighter guy she met at the beginning of the episode?

I didn't like this Master much at all. They say your first Doctor is usually your favorite.
I assume it's the same for the Master.
Okay, I finally watched this last night. I thought the episode was very very well played.

I was a little creeped out by the ancient Doctor in the cage.

I loved Jack with the shirt with bullet holes in them. 'Here we go again'.
And face of boe...what fun!

And the Doctor holding the Master at the end was really great. Shows his true caring and seeing past other things.

I was expecting Martha to leave with Captain Jack at the end though.
Pleased that The Master is not really dead.

But as a 25 year viewer of Doctor Who I should have known that the ...........The Master never stays dead :p
What exactly did Jack say about the Face of Boe? I didn't hear it clearly, but got the drift.

+1

He said he was the face of Boe, but I am forgetting/didn't hear everything about his explanation.
He said "They called me the 'Face of Bo'"

Great episode. Wonderful stuff.

Duh. We were asking why he was called that. I found it on Wikipedia:

In "Last of the Time Lords," the immortal Captain Jack Harkness expresses concern about how he might look if he lives "for a million years," because although he can't die, he is still aging, albeit slowly. He tells the Doctor and Martha that it's a matter of vanity, because he "used to be a poster boy when [he] was a kid in the Boeshane Peninsula," as the "first one ever to be signed up for the Time Agency ... the Face of Boe, they called me." This astonishes Martha and the Doctor. Writer Russell T. Davies, in the episode's commentary, called the implication of this scene "a theory" as to the Face of Boe's origins, prompting Executive Producer Julie Gardner to urge him to "stop back-pedalling" about the two characters being the same. Davies also mentioned that after writing the scene, he inserted a line in the ADR recording for "Gridlock" in which the Face of Boe calls the Doctor "old friend".
Thank Indy! Thanks Magister!

I keep forgetting about Wiki. But I remember the 'few gray hairs' line.

So what is a poster boy for Boeshane Peninsula mean?
I think it means that he was the first prominent person from his home town. Or something to that effect. He was representing his region with pride, their "poster boy," so to speak.
Thanks again. I was thinking some sort of child porn or something. :D I would love to have him be my poster boy. :D
Since they apparently couldn't come up with an original way to "cure" the Doctor, at least they chose to rip off one of the classics!

So will Martha be back, or is Tinker Bell going to get a new lost girl... I mean companion next season? :D

Spoiler for next season's Doctor Who:
Catherine Tate will return as Donna for next season's companion.
Spoiler for next season's Torchwood:
Martha will appear on Torchwood in a mid-season arc.

He could also of his likenesses on ads or posters, being the first recruited. An actual poster boy.

Heck, I was one, anything is possible :)
