I'm OTA only, but it sounds to me like it's more likely a provider problem than a TiVo problem. Does Verizon Fios use SDV? Have you made sure that 717 and 554 can each be tuned (not at the same time) by each of the TiVo's tuners? You can check that by going to DVR Diagnostics to see which tuner is tuned to what, then going to Live TV to view and change channels, then switching back and forth as necessary until you've checked all necessary combinations of channel tunings.Brand new Tivo Premiere XL with Boston based Verizon Fios with M cable card and no tuning adaptor (none is required), ethernet wired to 25MB/s up and down network.
Strange issue happening. All the channels tune in fine except if I have channel 717 (VH1) on one Tuner and 554 (Spike TV) on another. One of the channels will tune in fine and the other will present the warning "Looking for signal on channel," and never produce a picture.
The only way I was able to discover this was I happen to be recording two shows at once, one on channel 554 and the other on 717. The VH1 (717) recorded fine the 554 (Spike) recording had nothing. Obviously the failed recording was due to no signal.
I have done a signal strength test on all the channels and I get 90+ on all except on 717 and 554. When the Tivo is tuned to one of these channels and I check the signal strength Tivo reports one tuner is at 90+ and the other is at 0 signal. Again this only happens on channel 717 and 554. I can tune both of these channels in just not at the same time. I am assuming when I do attempt to tune either of these channels in that Tivo uses the Tuner that has the signal strength to tune in the channel. Odd thing is if I have on one tuner any other channel other than 717 or 554 then I have no problem tuning in 717 or 554. The loss signal issue only happens when one of the tuners is already tuned to 717 or 554 and I attempt to tune in 717 or 554 on the other tuner.
I am so confused by this. Anybody have any idea what is going on here. If more detail is needed or clarification is needed just let me know.
Thanks for the help.
