Had tivo with directv and no issues like this. Now wiht dish network. at channel change I get in the following order: black screen, tivo banner, a blink of the channel I am leaving, dishnetwork banner, then channel change. I have perference set at fast channel banner and don't know any other settings to make this faster.

It is executing in the right order.

You might want to try saying Yes to "box require I press Enter"

Standalone channel changes always take some time. Record everything you watch and it's a nonissue.
