Disappointed with Skip feature of Roamio Pro

I have owned 7 TIVOs since 2004. I purchased a Roamio in 2015 and am very disappointed that it is stuck on "start up" and all the lights are flashing. I was told by a Tivo rep the driver needs replaced. UGH! My 2006 series 2 it still working!! But rather than getting it fixed, I bought online, a 2019 Roamio Pro. I thought this would be an UPGRADE. The Roamio had an AUTOSKIP feature - only have to press D - Skip ONCE and it skipped ALL the commercials automatically. However the Roamio Pro has the Skip feature but does not auto SKIP the entire show. WHY the DOWNGRADE? Does the Bolt and Edge also lack the autoSkip function??

Auto Skip is not turned on by default. It can be enabled via navigating to MENU > SETTINGS > USER PREFERENCES > SKIPMODE and setting the option from Manual to Automatic.

If you do not see these options, you are running the old OS and must upgrade to get AutoSkip.

OP has been trafficking in another thread. And, yeah, they just need to upgrade the Roamio Pro to "The New Experience" - presuming the upgrade process is currently functioning.

Did you have Lifetime/All-in service on your older Roamio (w/ the dead drive)? If "yes," replacing the hard drive on a Roamio is uber-simple.

Names of installed apps become part of the iOS correction dictionary - that's why ComEd is always capitalized correctly when I write something on it!

They've circled back with news that the upgrade resolved the issue, as expected ...

Why purely dumb luck I got a message on the Roamio Pro to click a link at UPGRADE to T4 the software version starts with 21. Once I upgraded and restarted twice the auto Skipmode is working!

Not sure why upgrading involved luck or waiting for a message to trigger the process.
