DirecTV/TiVo remote control with MythTV

Hi, I recently purchased a Directv/Tivo peanut remote control in the hopes of using it with my MythTV setup. However it seems that the IR receiver isn't sensing the signal. The receiver is using a Hauppauge PVR-350 IR input and LIRC is set up for this receiver using an i2c driver. I guess my real question is, what format IR signal does this remote use? I believe that the receiver should see all RC-5 signals but if the remote is something else, is there any way to make the receiver "see" the signal?
