I've seen this problem for quite some time.
Called D* and talked to Tech Support.
They said that they are aware of this problem, and it occurred when they fixed a channel problem some time ago and are working on this problem now.
Don't understand why they can't correct this.
What does it take to correct the time on their uplink??
Its bad enough that they jacked up the subscription another 12 dollars or so as they do every year.
Never can tell if D* tech support is just telling you what you want to hear, or if they really are working on it.
Rebooting the DVR solves the problem, but the next day its back to 2 minutes slow, so it cuts off the first 2 minutes of what ever you have scheduled.
Yes, you can start the recording 2 minutes early, but if you have multiple programs scheduled to record, one will be canceled if there is an overlap issue.

---->DIRECTV, PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM!!<----

Guess D* doesn't know how to fix their time issue, as time is still off by 2 minutes, and I never got an email with from tech support confirming my contact with them.
I know that it isn't an issue with my TiVo's as a friend sees the same problem with his TiVo's also.
Don't think that it will do any good to call them again. Too Bad....

Wonder if it is just a way D* is trying to get TiVo owners to move to their DVR's?

Perhaps when we go to daylight savings time, it will correct itself?

FWIW we're having the same problem. Noticed it a couple of weeks ago.

There's a thread from 2017-18 that describes a same/similar issue with non-DTV TiVo receivers. TiVo c/s did nothing to fix the problem over many months, and a user noted that one of three time servers that TiVo invoked in association with the daily programming update was haywire and a work-around was to block that time-server at one's Internet gateway - TiVo was clever enough to notice the failure to connect and use a good one. Perhaps the same problem today but if so with different time-servers; the ones mentioned in 2017 were sjr1.tivo.com (and 2 and 3) and they consistently match my computer's time-server within 5 seconds.

I just checked my two receivers, THR22 (TiVo) and HR44, and both had the correct time. I asked my wife, who is the primary DVR user in our household, if she had noticed any times being off, and she said no. (Not counting some channels shifting start times a minute or two, as they have done for years.)

Thanks for everyone's replies.
On a daily basis, the time corrects itself, then over time goes back to two minutes slow.
Never more than 2 minutes.
D* said that they were aware of the problem and working on it.
I'm betting that they are waiting to when they change to daylight savings time to see if it fixes itself...

After reset yesterday, TiVo time stayed good for a day or so, then very likely went 2 minutes off again when "VCM CONNECTION" occurred. A recorded program starting at 6PM was correct, time was wrong around 6:15, and we found a VCM Connection had been at 6:08PM.

Also note Item 3 of this post: VCM Connection
We do happen to have scheduled a 'blind' recording on an OTA channel that does not exist, will try removing it.

UPDATE : at about 8:30 PM deleted the two blind recordings. At 10 PM noted that time had properly corrected itself.

UPDATE 2: Alas a day later the problem is back.

Now if they would only come out with a New DVR with a TiVo GUI!
Would like to be able to record 4 programs at a time, but even 3 programs at a time would be great!
I know that TiVo charges a use fee, I think, $5 per D* TiVo being used, but I wouldn't mind paying that fee.
Too that they most likely ever come out with one.

My most recent experience isn't too recent (2012 or so) - but back then, the TiVo fees (7 bucks for the DVR fee, 5 bucks TiVo fee, 10 bucks HD Service fee) were applied once per account, regardless of the number of boxes - we had 3 THR22s and only paid one set of DVR/TiVo/HD fees.
