Help please. I have an idea and I need to know if it's possible.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I want to get an DirecTV HD receiver (no Tivo) Then use it as a pass through device to a Tivo Series 2 standalone.

The idea is to have the HD content to watch, but still have all the cool features of the Tivo Series 2.

I realize, the Series 2 cannot recored DirecTV HD content. I'm not worried about that.

So, my question...Will this work?

thanks,

paul

It will work, though it's not the approach I generally recommend, which is to get a second, SD receiver for the TiVo. I think there were some serial control problems with the H10 - not sure about the H20 - so you may need to use infrared blasters.
