I just purchased a second DirecTiVo (HDVR2) and am running the latest OS (6.2a). The multiswitch and wiring was in my townhouse before I bought it.

Previously, I just had my HDVR2 downstairs and one of the two coax connections upstairs going into an old RCA receiver. Now that I bought another HDVR2 for the upstairs, I'm having the problem listed in the title: My HDVR2 is saying that DirecTV 2 (Sat 2) is not enabled (in Messages & Setup > System Information). Is this a problem on my account, a wiring problem, or a bad tuner problem? I *can* watch both even and odd channels on the TV attached to the new HDVR2, but it's only showing a single tuner. I've tried switching the satellite input cables around, that didn't do anything... I'm using composite to connect to the tv, not s-video (earlier threads said that s-video can cause issues with the 2nd tuner). Any ideas?

Thanks!

I solved the problem. Apparently with the USB network adapter hooked up, the tivo never goes through the setup for the second tuner - very odd!

I found the answer here: showpost.php?p=271119&postcount=22 (insert the tivo hacking forum domain prior to that).

I unplugged the adapter and rebooted the tivo and only then did the tivo go through the satellite setup where it asked for my zip code and dish type.

I was then able to plug the network adapter back in while it was running and still have network access.
