is there any way to record one show while watching another, I know you can do it with direct tv tivo recorder, But i purchased the recorder form tivo and it is a humax. I tried using a sat. splitter but cant get it to work

Unless you get a 2nd DirecTV reciever... Nope.

Well... You could always watch something you had already recorded...

Your Humax TiVo unit, only has one tuner thus it can only take one input.
Your DTV Reciever can only output one channel at a time.

So again, unless you get a 2nd DirecTV reciever, or watch something you already recorded... no.
