Using cableCARDs, are one or more of your "digital" cable channels actually analog?

The above article documents how the author is receiving analog simulcasted channels when tuning to certain channels using his TiVo HD with cableCARDS while the same channels are digital when using the cable box.

To be fair, in my area all my channels are digital through my TiVo. This makes me wonder how wide spread this issue is. Poll time. :)

The author is a he, not a she, by the way. And the issue isn't what the TiVo is doing vs. a cable box -- the article doesn't assert anything about how cable boxes in the same system might or might not be behaving, except to note that making a determination about exactly what a cable box is doing in this regard, without access to its diagnostics, can be difficult.

That's what I get from going by the name without looking at the picture (fixed).

As for the cable boxes diagnostics, if you have a Motorola box it can be accessed by pressing the OKAY button on the remove immediately after you power off the box.

Just so no one thinks this is a Tivo problem - if your are getting analog versions when you are supposed to be getting digital, call your cable company, not Tivo. :)
