Check this out: Today’s 7pm 60 Minutes on CBS has generic series info (“The granddaddy of TV news magazines ...”) on my Edge, but has specific episode data (“Red Flag Laws; Talking to the Past”) on my Roamio. I connected both to HQ, and nothing changed.

Furthermore, the Roamio has the late switch by ABC to “Black Panther” in the wake of Chad Boseman’s death; the Edge still has its usual retro gameshow lineup. I have no explanation as to why, if there’s updated program data out there (as proved by the Roamio), it isn’t being registered on the Edge.

First question would be what software version they are on as other posters have indicated TE4's have received updates including the Black Panther being added to the schedule but all Edge's are on TE4 so that's not it.

They're both on 21.9.7.v10.

An interesting fact is the Roamio has program data to 9/12, while the Edge only has program data to 9/10.

Your EDGE may have developed an Ethernet problem. Try changing to internal WiFi for a day. TE4 checks for guide updates three times every day.

I’m using MoCA, but I suppose it’s related to Ethernet. I’ll keep you posted.

Here’s a thought: The Roamio listings contains recent changes while the Edge does not. It seems that when service connections are made, updates to current listings are made on the Roamio, while it seems the Edge just adds on future data at the end, without changing any current data that may have been modified since the last connection. Hence the outdated show data that remain unchanged.

Why the Edge isn’t updating its “cached” listings, if you will, I have no idea.

UPDATE: The Roamio is now 21.10.1v8; exactly when I'm not sure. The Edge had a [Pending Restart] under Network Settings; after a forced restart, voila! Updated program data across the board.

It's possible the Roamio had already moved on from 21.9.7.v10, and hence had the updated listings. Assuming that was behind this, why failing to upgrade would hold updating old data hostage is beyond my ken.

UPDATE: The discrepancy rears its ugly head: My Roamio has updated data for the Tonight Show and Late Night, but my Edge has generic show info, despite force-connecting. Again, it’s as if the Edge doesn’t update new changes to data previously downloaded.
