Gang -

I brought my TiVo with me while I'm away this winter but there is no local # to dial in to. I have just been plugging in the phone cord about every 6 days to get updates in order to save on phone charges.

Here's the question: am I saving anything with regard to total connect time by doing it this way or is my call on day 6 going to last 6 times longer than an every day call? I watched it do its thing today and it was connected for about 15 minutes. Not a big deal, just curious.

I'm surprised that TiVo doesn't offer an 800 # or some way to use calling cards. From all the threads I've looked at it appears no one has figured out how to get a calling card to work. And there are a lot of talented people out there who must have tried this so I'm surprised.
