Hi ALL,

Is anyone still watching this? Actually, I'm kind of surprised that I'm still watching this!! I guess I've spent enough time with this show that I'm still comitted to continue with it.

Over the years I have grown to hate most of the characters but I think the one chraacter I hate the most is Lynette! She is just so bossy that I don't know how Tom can put up with it. And this season she seemed even worse. Tom finally lands a really good job with great pay and Lynette just cannot accept that he is now very successful and even more successful then she ever was when she was working. It finally came to a head near the end of the season and now in the finale Tom has left her. I wonder what will happen after that?!

It's pretty clear Tom and Renee will get together for at least a dalliance next year. Maybe even for the whole year like they did with Susan and Mike.

I tend to agree.
I could put up with a lot of what the character did because Tom can be a bit flighty and I got the sense that deep down, despite everything, she truly loved Tom.

But this last fight, I was totally on Tom's side because she pushed, threatened, cajoled, and schemed for him to take this job.

And now that he's very successful at it, she gets upset to the point of wanting to separate?

Not only did I not buy it at all, this whole situation is all on her.
Renee was boring the entire season. When she joined she was like Willimena Slater and I really enjoyed her. Se lost her fangs pretty quickly though and became boring.

I also usually dislike the rest of the characters. There are rumors about a new housewife next season.....I hope they are true.

There's been a new housewife almost every year. Usually they are the ones that are either killed off or chased off the Lane.

Count me in as another one who has stuck with the show despite it being a shell of it's former self. I kind of liked this season because of the return of our original bad guy, but that whole turn at the end where he turned into a good guy for awhile bugged me. Renee, I don't like. I don't like the actress or the part she's playing. I hope she goes and they get someone better, but i doubt it.
Nobody mentioned ... Carlos killed Betty's dad!

This show is still one of our Sunday night guilty pleasure.

Looks like next season will be an interesting season what with the killing, the divorce etc.

EXACTLY!!! That is what got me angry the most. As you said, Lynette pushed and pushed for him to take the job and now that he has it she can't stand it!! And even makes fun of him. What also got me is when she and the other lady were "hired" by Tom to decorate his office and he wanted certain things and Lynette said she knew better and put in everything that Tom did NOT want! Of course the other lady changed everything out so Tom did get what he wanted and again Lynette took Tom to task for it!!!

Oh well, at least its over for now and I'll have to see if I stick with it next season!!!

Lynette is an ultra-control freak. If it wasn't her idea it sucks. There really are people that bad. It would suck to be stuck with one, but it makes for good TV.

+1, I actually wanted to punch the TV, but was afraid all the plasma would spill out.
I, too, have stuck by this watching religiously. Lynette was always a control freak, but she really went crazy this year. She was so threatened by Tom's success she didn't know what to do. I really like how the girls got together at the end to stick by Gaby and Carlos. I will continue to watch next year, as I always enjoy how they bring a new neighbor in.
BTW, I really liked the way that Felicia met truck.

Who knew Betty's Dad could be sooooo creepy? He had to die.

I keep watching, too, and don't really know why. Guess I'm too lazy to delete the SP and there's nothing else to record on Sunday night except TAR, so don't need the tuner.

Renee started out entertaining but eventually turned as blah boring as everyone else on Wisteria Lane. Though I do still enjoy Gaby and the gay guys are pretty entertaining.

The women are getting pretty good at covering up murders. First Carlos' Mom, then Katherine's hubby, and now Gaby's step-dad.
The whole "hide the body" thing made me want to scream at the TV. Carlos was so obviously protecting his wife from a home intruder that it didn't make any sense at all. Most people will rationalize something like that as being justified even when it's clearly not.

It was equally stupid when Gabby screamed, "he doesn't have my gun! He said he had it!" and Carlos replied "Oh my God, I killed an unarmed man!" Carlos had no way to know that the guy had a gun or not, and he surely had no way to know that the guy had told Gabby he had *her* gun.

I am excited about who the housewife is rumored to be......a certain soap opera star who will soon be unemployed.

I could see Felicity leaving the show and Renee taking her spot with Tom and that rumored housewife brought in as the new girl.
The step father plot made no sense. It was a completely justifiable act by Carlos, even if nobody knew about the rape allegations from 15 years ago. Intruder in the house, about to attack your wife? Do what you gotta do.

But, of course, people do know about the rape allegations from 15 years ago, including all of Gabby's neighbors and the nun at her old school.

And Carlos didn't shoot him. He hit him in the head with a blunt object. No intent to kill.

It would have been more interesting if he(stepfather) came to make amends and apologize and they accidentally kill him.

THIS!

As guilt of a pleasure as this show is, the writing here is just pathetic. Killing him was totally justifiable, even accidental. Why hide it? Ridiculous.

Lynette is unsympathetic and unlikable. Tom is too. I don't care about them but it is funny that the guy went from running a bad pizza place to being a super businessman to the tenth power. OK.

The show is running on fumes. This should have been the series finale, but I'll be back next season just cause I'm invested at this point.
My wife and I just watched the last 5 episodes over the last few nights.

We really wish we had that time back. There was no excitement at all in the conclusion of the season. If that were Season 1, there would be no season 2.
