Dead TiVo

My four year old series 2 was working fine last night. Now it shows a blank screen and the green power light is not on. Have it unplugged now in the remote hope that it is some overheating issue. Is there much chance of this being anything user serviceable.? I do hate to give up that lifetime subscription!

My old series 1 in the other room is still going strong after some 6 years.

No power light, I'd have to guess the power supply has given up the ghost.

Pretty sure Weaknees.com has them, maybe even the TCF Store?

You can also call TiVo. I believe that they will exchange it for 150 and you can keep your lifetime.

I should have mentioned that when the TIVO is unplugged the picture from the cable box shows. When plugged in the screen goes blank, but with some illumination. So there must be some power somewhere.

Just to follow up. I did (some time ago) buy a replacement power supply from Weak knees - installation was simple and it fixed all the problems.

Did you send in the old supply?

What model is that TiVo?

This was a series 2. I did not send in the old power supply, as far as I recall no one asked for it. This was all some 4-5 years ago and the unit is still running fine.
