Ok, my turn, this one has me stumped, I took some time now that it's quiet to troubleshoot my original run Bolt 500GB unit that had a Toshiba 3TB in it that's 4 years old and was assuming a bad drive.

I was wrong, in using a fresh good 500GB drive, or the now tested 3TB I see that I never make the move to the yellow LED flashing on either drive so I can't even diagnose with KS.
All I get is the Tivo logo for a few minutes, then it resets and I get the logo again, lather, rinse, repeat. This is still a TE3 unit that's ran great until this failure.

Any ideas other than it being a bad motherboard that I need to try Tivo support on?

Power brick?
Oh how I wish it was, but I have 2 other power bricks I tried with the same result.
I moved the 3TB to another 4 tuner Bolt that was never upgraded and after a C&DE that machine is happily chugging away with no errors, I'm not looking forward to seeing what support can do for me tomorrow, I'm open to an exchange fee since since it's a lifetime unit and the first I've ever had fail in a way that wasn't the drive in almost 20 years.

My Roamio Basic did the same thing this past summer, never got to the point where I could try a kickstart.
New hard drive, no joy, even tried the original drive that I kept after upgrading, still nothing.
Various different power bricks including higher rated ones, no joy.
Always connected via UPS, had a laptop cooling pad under it for half it's life, no idea why it chose to die.

Didn't even bother contacting TiVo, I have 3 other TiVo's and of course have heard the nightmare stories of TiVo support lately.
Pulled the cablecard bracket and put that in one of my Roamio OTA's, (daughter moved to a location that had horrible antenna signal, but had Comcast available) and tossed the Basic.

Good luck, because some of the posts I'm reading indicates TiVo is getting hard-ass about exchanging and/or transferring lifetime.

They offered a Bolt Vox replacement with transfer of All-in for $249, while I probably could have played CSR roulette and tried for less or an Edge, this will do the job considering that was my oldest Bolt and I'm sure it was bought on a huge sale way back when.

Booting to a TiVo logo and then screen goes blank and reboots to TiVo logo again...that is what two of my TE3 minis did this year. No fix.

I wonder how you got a Bolt as a replacement, didn't we all think the Bolts were gone? I mean I guess I thought they were all gone.

I suspect it's because it was a 500GB unit and they have some Bolt VOX units with 500GB still in the warehouse, I tried for an Edge, but not very hard since it's not an upgrade in my mind, but it would make a nice comparison point.
