"Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me," Bergeron announced on Twitter late Monday afternoon. "It's been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I'm grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?"

Wonder if they are being forced out? I can't see how they're going to film a season anytime soon though, so maybe they're just calling it quits?

The biggest surprise is that this show has been on 15 years.

It's amazing how long these reality shows run. Survivor has been on at least 20 years, right?

Yep, Survivor started in 2000. Same for Big Brother.

I feel it pretty clearly is non-voluntary. I saw on tvguide.com that ABC commented that the show was going in a new direction. And Tom's own quote is that he was informed that DWTC was continuing on without him, not that he informed them.

Probably cost-cutting to get someone cheaper. I doubt, for example, that they have Derrick and Julianne lined up as replacements because they're probably too expensive too.

I loved this show and started many a thread when casts were announced. I haven't watched in at least 2 seasons. It got stale for me. But Tyra?! Ugh

Based on his tweet of "Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me", it sounds like this is being done TO him, not BY him...

I think they've been trying to kill the show for some time (they've skipped the Spring cycle for a couple of years now) but havn't been able to because of backlash from core fans. I think they finally found a way to kill it.

I can live with that decision, but I'll miss Tom. Tyra was not good as a host on AGT. So not really understanding their logic with that move.
