Damages. You still watching? (spoilers inside, probably)

I still watch this show every week. I've noticed that it hasn't had a weekly episode thread for a while, so I assume interest has waned. I still find the acting to be great and the overall storyline is interesting but Patty's weekly Machiavellian machinations produce eye rolls from me now. They should use this past episode's dream sequence where Patty is humping David and has an orgasm as an interrogation tool in Guantanamo. I would spill every secret I know to never have to see that again.

GREAT show !!! Still love it. But - I agree with you ... about the David/Patty dream - ick!

Does anyone know - how long is the show suppose to be on ??? How many more weeks? Hubby and I were wondering, if we are going to get 'closure' to this story line, or if they are going to stop - for another season? continue from there?
I watch this as soon as it pops up on Now Playing list, better than much on tv these days. The time shifting continues to drive me nuts, though. I just don't see how it helps move the story line along.

The young attorney has been at the firm for a couple weeks, right? Not difficult to believe she would be such a key person on a bazillion dollar case.
Hi:
I really like this show. Sometimes it's a bit too confusing, but overall the writing and acting are great and it does keep you guessing.

I also like that, even though we know some of what happens, we really don't.......

I'm hoping that is is renewed again for next year.
Although, I don't know how they can continue to have Patty playing her part (was that blood on her shoe?) and keep getting away with it, since she is a bit extreme....

I'll keep watching to find out, though!

That part is a bit hard to take. Normally, there'd be an office insurrection if the newbie was shown such favoritism. Patty may be a task master but she does need the other lawyers at her firm to be relatively happy.
Other than the opening episode of House, I like this show as much as anything I have seen lately. I was surprised to see how many have apparently dropped out by the lack of threads here.

I personally like the flash forwards . . makes it interesting to compare notes as to what you think you know (but you really don't), and how you know someone is lying (Tom).

WAS that blood on her shoe? I need to re-watch. I was wondering why they would show a close up of her foot.
I'm thinking that Ellen turns out to be the scheme-iest one of all and she ends up playing both Patty and Sam Malone! (Possibly for the benefit of the plaintiffs) Too Grisham-y?
I read that the ratings have really dropped off, I think the last episode drew below a 1.0.
I think the show is really interesting, I have been watching. Wow, can't believe the ratings have gotten so low.

It's a complicated show. The time shifting thing is confusing, although I get what they're doing. You get this shrinking gap between the past and the present, and it adds drama. "That was only a week ago? Wow. How things can change in a week." But it's still confusing.

The show keeps me guessing, and I want to know what the hell is going on. But I'm not usually too good at figuring these things out, so I may be a bad example. With ratings this low, maybe no one else gets it either. :)
I like the show-but it seems like it's been kind of dull and uneventful lately. They came up with a good ending and now they're just biding their time until they can tell it.

Asked and answered. She was hired solely because of her connection to the restauranteur, and fired the instant that connection became worthless to Patty.

That's because the suits at FX are idiots and didn't give it a simultaneous premiere with Rescue Me to assure a finish before the real fall season started.

Respectfully disagree on your use of the term "fired." One could argue that she fired herself with that little outburst.

Yes, but Patty was clearly pushing her towards that little outburst. I suspect she just didn't want to make it any more blatant than it already was that she had hired her fraudulently (Ellen is, after all, a lawyer!). And while Ellen didn't see it, we saw the conversation in which Patty declared her intent to get rid of Ellen. So I would say your distinction is purely semantic, and holds no real-world meaning whatsoever. The prosecution rests. :D
any idea how many episodes are left? seems we'd be getting close to the finale soon.
Nip/Tuck takes over time spot on October 30. That coomes down to 3 episodes left.

Through the end of October. It's getting kinda convoluted, but I will stick to the end at this point just to see what happens. They are supposed to wrap up everything and next season will be something else.
I still love this show. For a while I was waiting so my wife could watch it but she's too busy and there're too many other things on, so I've started watching it without her (she needs a lot more sleep than me :) ).

As I've said on other threads, I don't mind the flashback/flashforward device in this show: I've seen it done badly but here they're pretty careful and I think it's handled very well. I think it adds to the suspense a lot to know what happens; you're always trying to fit everything that goes on "in the past" into the fabric of what you know ends up happening. I think without the fast forward stuff this middle part of the series would be much less interesting.
