controlling a pioneer VSX-1020?

Hi! We just hooked up our Tivo Premiere XL to a new Pioneer VSX-1020 (which I read on here is Tivo friendly)! We had no problem entering the codes so that the volume can be controlled, but is there a way to set it up to select another device through the Pioneer? I was hoping to either through Input or the ABCD. Thanks for your help!
