Considering Upgrading TiVo Desktop

I have TiVo Media Desktop running on one of our computers. I have a few shows that are automatically downloaded to my computer once the show is complete. And then I check to se see if the program was downloaded properly before I delete it from the TiVo.

One of the shows are in a group (about 400) and when I choose to copy the earliest, it will then go back to the top of that category, so I have to scroll all the way down again. I am running version 2.8.2 (412369)

If I upgrade the TiVo Desktop to TiVo Plus, would I be able to push the files from my desktop to my computer so I do not have to keep scrolling down, rather then trying to download the files from the computer?

Plus, I am also guessing that if I upgrade, I can have it set up to remove those programs from the TiVos once they are uploaded to the TiVo Desktop?

Thank you!

I'm not sure, but I believe Tivo Desktop Plus does NOT let one 'push' videos to the Tivo.

I DO know that Tivo Desktop Plus does NOT support remote deletion of shows on the Tivo.

You might want to look into using PyTivo.

I'm really not sure what you're asking, but AFAIK, the only thing that upgrading to TD+ gets you is the ability to transcode -- you'd see no other changes in its behavior.

If I'm reading you correctly, kmttg would probably be of more interest than pyTivo.

I agree, try the free programs before spending money on an upgrade that probably won't do what you want it to. Haven't tried pyTivo but I know kmttg will let you translate the video into more computer and/or other device friendly formats.
PyTivo allows you to push video to the Tivo and if you also use KMTTG, you can do batches, download, decode, VideoReDo QuickStream Fix, etc. and even let it do the push back to Tivo via PyTivo. Recent release added remote delete for Premieres.

Tivo Desktop and Plus will not do any of this.
Thanks - I'll take a look at the other programs to see if that might help.

If I pause TiVo Server and then delete the programs - would that cause any problems? I was hoping that when I re-start TiVo, it would update the files in the TiVo.

Basically, instead of copying the programs from TiVo to my computer, I would like to move the programs from my computer to TiVo.
Tivo desktop does not work like that. Persue pyTivo and kmttg to do what you want.

The way TiVo Desktop works is you go to the TiVo, go to the bottom of the Now Playing list, and find there the computer on which you run TiVo Desktop. It'll be a folder, and inside the folder are the shows that have been copied to the computer.

Using the TiVo remote, you choose the ones you want to copy to the TiVo.
