Basically want to use both an HD DVR STB and SD DVR STB off the same 2 lines without running any more wiring. Heres setup at present:

Have two lines to my HR10-250 HD from a Terk BMS-58 5x8 multiswitch from a phase III dish. Is there a way to also connect a HR10 SD box to these same 2 lines downstream in the house. Ideally I'd like to be able to control each independently for all available satellites/channels. I have an extra Eagle 4x8 multiswitch available...can I take the 2 available lines and feed them into the Eagle then have my 4 outputs...2 to the HD box and 2 to the SD box. If so which inputs on the Eagle do I use so I can still send appropriate signal to the upstream Terk multiswitch and the dish?

Not possible, sorry. You need to run 2 more lines.

The way you are wanting to setup you will only get the 101 satellite.

To be specific, if you connect two lines to the Sat A side of the 4x8 you will get the 101 sat. If you connect to the Sat B side, then you can get 110/119. You need to run two more lines if you want all three sats.

I have a HDVR2 but someone gave me a H10 last week which I haven't activated yet and am using only for OTA HD. I only have 2 coax lines as well.

I was happy to find that I could split one of them using a regular coax splitter -- the powered split side goes to HDVR2 tuner#2 and works fine. The other side goes to H10. It can only see half the satellites but all I need (after doing the inital H10 setup) from this side of the split is the guide data for local HD. And it works!

Because you can only see half the TPs means that it isn't working fine. If you ever need to watch different channels on the two units that use TPs of different polarity, then you'll see it doesn't work. Get a multiswitch and connect it correctly.

Oh, you mean that the H10 is receiving OTA just fine. This just means that the OTA has been diplexed onto the sat line.

I mean the H10 receives OTA just fine (as expected), and also receives the guide info for local channels just fine even though it can only see half the TP's. I only change channels b/t OTA channels.

The reason you only see half the TPs is because the receiver that is connected on the powered side of the splitter is controlling the LNB. I assume you also have a diplexer on the line to feed the OTA side of the H10. Just get yourself a multiswitch already.

Or a Phase III dish for the HD.

Lol, yeah good point on the multiswitch!

I'm just goofing around w/this wacky splitting with a H10 that a friend gave me last week. I just wanted to know if I could get OTA. Indeed I can, so I'll be calling DirecTv to get the HR10-250, PhaseIII, installation, etc. for a proper setup. Just need to finish reading all the threads on what deals peeps currently getting from them.
