From the Tivo site:

After 30 days, an Early Termination Fee will be charged for monthly plans if service is cancelled before the end of the commitment period. If you cancel a prepaid plan, you will not be charged an Early Termination Fee, but you will not receive a refund of any remaining balance.

I'm assuming you have a Premiere. I'm assuming you are contractually obligated to make monthly subscription payments for a one or two year period and early cancellation means having to pay it all off at once.

Since you'll be paying for it every month (or all at once) anyway, you might as well hold on to it to use to get your local OTA channels even if you dump cable.
