I think a lot of people are interested considering the show is a top 15 show for the season to date and thats even with it not airing the whole month of december. It still has higher ratings then most shows even the ones that had episodes in december.

Would be great if one of the generals leaked it, which started the war, then got found out, sent to the front lines and killed by a sub.

I guess mom did move into the white house. At least the kids will have someone watching them from now on. I know they have to show mom isn't popular but how many more cabinet members do we have to see being disloyal? it's getting old

I also hope the blonde betrayer doesn't go back to her boss. That would really annoy me...even more than she does by herself.

I'm enjoying the show, but this one annoyed me with too many corners cut based on cheapness as far as I can tell.

One long shot of the White House with the Washington Monument in the back is from over 5 years ago. The Michael Graves designed scaffolding from the restoration project is still in place. I guess in theory they're in an alternate universe and their own time, but you can't be in a "post 9/11" world and show outdoor pictures from 1999. Stock photos are OK, but make sure they fit the situation.

If the scrubbers had failed, their problem is too much CO2, not lack of oxygen. The should have left it with a comment about the scrubbers failing and not had someone ask "are those the things that extract oxygen from seawater?". They aren't, they remove exhaled CO2 from the air inside the sub. Five minutes with Google could have set them straight.

The "clock that shows to the second until they die from lack of oxygen" was way too cheesy. Something from a 80's direct-to-video movie not in keeping with a major network primetime series.

The idiot generals were also annoying. Were they supposed to be stupid, or still blocking the president by not coming up with options to save the sub? Borrowing a Chinese sub seemed a stretch already, but not pondering their DSRV was kinda dumb. Even after it was suggested they continued to block the idea saying they couldn't let the sub driver inside their sub, never suggesting they don't enter the sub. I just couldn't swallow the whole exchange.

I'm still hoping the show will find it's stride and be a good one, but last night's episode wasn't a step in the right direction.

I really hate myself for watching this show, but the unintentional cheese factor is so high that I actually look forward to it! There are at least a half dozen times per episode when a line of dialogue, a piece of acting or an event that occurs is just so cheesy that my wife and I look at each other and just start cracking up.

As much as I am a CiC fan, I will admit I rolled my eyes at that more than once.. as GOB would say.. "COME ON!"

Yeah, there was a lot of that. But writing and editing isn't hugely expensive. Especially continuity, fact-checking (SCRUBBERS!!!!). Just having somebody read it over to ask the question "Do real people actually talk like this?" I don't mind (in fact enjoy and appreciate) mannered and stylized language if there is some art to it. But bare bones, plot-advancement-only dialog has to sound real, or at least give us a fighting chance to suspend our disbelief. This was about as bad a TV episode as I've ever seen.

I'm still hoping the show will find it's stride and be a good one, but last night's episode wasn't a step in the right direction.

Like you, I'm watching the thing because I'd very much like to like it. But your take on this episode is unfortunately right on target.

BTW Sutherland deserves an emmy for this. The ham is sliced extra thick but, working with pretty much nothing, he's putting together a character that's fun to watch.

What bugged me about this episode was the "residence" area. My husband even said "have they moved out of the White House now?" I mean, the place where they had breakfast looked like some suburban house. I'm sorry, but the President (nor her mother) really need appliance to cook meals! That was just a really stupid set.

I'm liking that Sutherland was actually working with the President last night and seemed to have NO personal agendas for once. Nice to see his character can pitch in and be a team player when the fate of the nation rests on it.

I did find cutting a deal with the Chinese a bit absurd. Like they're not going to tell the Koreans. But, I do agree the "spin doctor" punk is the one who leaked things.
