In September Comcast added the Hallmark Drama channel to the HD lineup at 1460 (Sellersville PA channel lineup). After re-running the TiVo guided setup the channel was still not visible in the channel list. In fact; the channel list shows 1459 and then goes directly to 1462. TiVo support told me to contact Comcast, and Comcast said I cannot see the channel as it requires a new cable box with XFinity X1 at an additional fee. After doing some research, I found out that this new channel is IP and it will not be visible on a TiVo using a cable card. Assuming this is true, what other channels are IP only that I will not be able to see? Is there a master list somewhere?

Comcast channel listings vary by location, so there is no "master list" that would pertain across the board.

You could call Comcast CS or go to the local Xfinity store, and they might be able to give you the answer specific to your account.

I'd visit a store and ask.

When I came back to Comcast/Xfinity and knowing that VOD was going away, one of the packages offered me included the XG1V4 box. I took that offer as well as the CableCARD and my XG1V4 does many channels that either don't appear in my 'package' or aren't available QAM. My CableCARD package doesn't include FS2 but I do receive it in 2 locations on my X1, the channel you asked about also appears (1460). I happen upon them occasionally. 1115 NEWSMAX isn't in my 'package' but my X1 box receives it.

If your Xfinity store is close I'd do a walk in particularly if you've a relationship with a CSR there. I'm quite pleased with my choice/decision. I have the XG1V4 and a Mini at the primary location and the Roamio at the other location. If you're close to a renewal a package that includes the XG1V4 might be tempting.

My Xfinity Store is a 40 mile drive and I won't be doing it soon or I'd ask. We should have similar lineups I'd think. If you've particular channels in mind mention them and I'll check my XG1V4. There are things that the XG1V4 does quite well.

The 'IN STORE' CSR I dealt with got me a better package price than I was offered 'on line' but I don't know that he actually understood channel line ups well.

If you're provided a list I'd for sure be interested in a 'conversation'.

My wife would not put up with another new device in the cabinet, and our TV does not have any free HDMI ports left anyway. But I do appreciate the replies.

I am able to view the channel on my Roku using their Xfinity app but I would like to be able to record programs from that channel on the TiVo. Oh well, kind of sad that TiVo might be going away soon. I have been using them since 2005 but the end is in sight...

I do the XG1V4 and the Mini through an AVR so only 1 HDMI on the TV is used. The XG1V4 also records those IP channels. An XG1V4 and Mini use very little space. I believe there's maybe way to much speculation as to QAM & CableCARDS going away!!! I'm good I believe through 7/21 for my pricing program, QAM &CableCARD going away? If it does it does - ain't no need to worry about it. I'm quite pleased with the XG1V4 along with a Roamio and a Mini. Really convenient. I've a Roku 'Ultra' (when it had SPDIF optical) that hasn't been connected since coming back to Comcast/Xfinity 7/19.

I had L3TV/-T-Vision for 13 months and aside from maybe the aggravation of them being in transition it worked quite well. I'll be here with Xfinity likely until CableCARDS and QAM disappear. I hope that's a very long time!

Not a "list" specifically, but there was another thread in this forum re: IP-only channels, as well as over at DSLR:
It looks like Comcast is adding IP channels? - Comcast XFINITY TV | DSLReports Forums (Page 2)

But to cut to the chase, here they are...but DO note there are some minor variations between different systems, & some system don't carry some or any of these:
Hallmark Drama (both SD & HD versions are IP-only)
Newsmax HD
i24 News HD
Z Living HD
QVC 2 & 3 (both SD & HD versions are IP-only)
FS2 HD (SD version still in QAM)
PAC12 HD (SD version still in QAM)
Fox Sports Deportes HD (SD version still in QAM, but some systems like ours still have the HD version in QAM as well)
SEC Overflow HD (SD version still in QAM)
Sports season pass packages in ALL HD
Around 50 international channels, some in HD & some in SD only

Thank you for that information. I have not checked the DSL Reports forum in years, good to see they are still going strong. BTW, I did contact TiVo support to find out if there are plans to be able to view and record Comcast IP channels in the future. I figured what harm could it do to ask?

TiVoTed has indicated they are working with Comcast on IP related things so who knows.

Yeah those folks there don't know anything, I'm just telling you what one of their VP's posted here over the summer when Xfinity on Demand was retired as an app. Honestly more folks here prolly have a better idea than TiVo Support. If you do a search you can find it.

You can use a Roku device as a DVR to record all of your channels with Comcast's cloud DVR service. The new Extra plan that is available in some locations includes 10 or 20 hours of cloud DVR service. If you have Digital Starter and the new Extra plan is available in your area, it is generally about the same price as Digital Starter. A YouTube video describing this is here.

I have an Apple TV device. Would that be of any use in such a scenario?

It's been discussed in here before but a few years ago Xfinity seemed to indicate they would not be making a Stream app for Apple TV anytime soon. They are perfectly happy for you to run the Stream app on your iPhone or iPad and AirPlay it to the Apple TV tho. I think there may have been an exclusivity deal with Roku about this.
