First of all, this is the wrong forum for that question. 
However, that TiVo has component outputs because it is also a DVD player. The TiVo recordings should also look a little better using that output. Digital cable HD recorded on that TiVo will only be SD (480i), so will not be in HD. To watch HD you need to also connect the cable box directly to the TV.
