Comcast added TBS HD on Wednesday but my S3 did not recognize it. I typed 219 in manually and then got the channel. I then went to settings and channels and 219 was listed but unchecked. I checked it on and I forced a call connection to Tivo late yesterday to make sure I got the new channel and nothing. What gives? After all this no guide data for the channel.

I heard Comcast was under gun to get the channel done because of the MLB playoffs and crazy Cub fans (I am in chicago) but was this a fluke or what? I am worried about future additions and missing out on them. The cubs game did look fantastic last night on the channel though. Thanks for doing something right Comcast.

While TBS HD is available on Comcast Houston it also has no guide data. However, Comcast has announced a bunch of HD channels that are to be available 10/23. So while Comcast may have added early for MLB, Tribune, the data provider is probably not scheduled to release data until 10/23.

Tase, have you tried tuning the channel in manually? I found it on my HD STB, but Tivo hasn't got guide data yet, so I have to tune 220 manually.
Greg, I have tried manually entering every channel # mentioned in any thread I can find, and even channels not mentioned. No Luck.

I'm pretty sure I am SOL.

This is a portion of a "live chat" with a Comcast csr and another customer also living in Wallingford. Taken from AVSForum.

Bill(Mon Oct 1 23:05:30 EDT 2007)>Will TBS HD be added to my channel lineup

analyst Amy has entered room

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:05:40 EDT 2007)>Hello Bill_, Thank you for contacting Comcast Live Chat Support. My name is Amy. Please give me one moment to review your information.

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:06:16 EDT 2007)>Good evening

Bill_(Mon Oct 1 23:06:28 EDT 2007)>I'm in Wallingford CT. From what I've read New Haven and Hartford already have the channel available

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:07:33 EDT 2007)>I'm sorry Bill, this channel will not be available at this time in your town as the channel capacity in the town is 625Mhz. The channel is only available in towns capable of 750Mhz.

Bill_(Mon Oct 1 23:09:33 EDT 2007)>Great. Do they plan on upgrading any time soon? I don't seem to get much HD content for what I pay compared to those surrounding areas.

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:10:28 EDT 2007)>Bill, I'm sorry this would mean rewiring the whole town, we have not been made aware of when this might happen. I do apologize.

The actual channel being in existence was not a fluke, Comcast added it in the Chicagoland market on Wednesday officially, though it was reported that it was also available on Tuesday.

But it still has not shown up in my channel list. Should I run through the basic setup again to see if the guide refreshes or should I force a connect? What is the best way to ensure the guide data is the most up-to-date? Thanks!

there's a form on the main tivo.com website to let tivo know about changes to channel lineups.

Find that and fill it out- within a matter of a couple days they will update their information for your area and it will get downloaded to your tivo. You'll get a pop up message that says something like "tivo has determined their was a channel added to your lineup- channel 1234 tbs HD"

didn't receive the normal 'a lineup change has occurred' message but when I did some poking online and found channel 219 I was able to look at my channel settings and it was there. I just had to select it as a channel I receive and that was that.

Beautiful picture. Too bad the game's outcome wasn't the same. Kudos to Comcast for coming through!

I am not sure how to awswer this. The channel is not showing up on the channel list. Type it in manually and hit enter (mine was 219). If the picture comes on, then you have to go to settings and channels and select it. The data, as stated above, wont be available for several days it sounds like. How that helped a little

Yeah, Brighthouse in Florida (space coast) added HGTV HD, Food HD, TBS HD, and one other. They show up in my guide properly, but all any of them show for information is "to be announced". Guess I'd better go looking for that form on TiVo.com

I started getting TBS-HD on Monday. The guide info didn't show up until Wednesday, and it had the baseball game schedule all wrong until Thursday. And the channel suffered from pixellation every couple of minutes from Monday-Wednesday. It was all fixed as of last night.

So I guess my point is: don't expect the addition of TBS-HD to be quick and smooth LOL

Aargh! My provider (Clear Picture in Wooster OH) just added TBS HD too (Indians in the playoffs) and TiVo doesn't know. In fact, they never added PBS and STO HD channels after I filled out the form two months ago...

Please TiVo gods, show mercy!

Greg, Even though I was told we would not be getting TBS-HD, I continued following your advice trying every channel I saw mentioned.

Last night I tried 198 and   TBS-HD!!
