I have a DirecTiVo in a location where I can't have it dial in very often. Of course, I get the daily "nag" message about it. Today I finally dialled in after some hundred+ number of days, so the nag went away for now. But...I still have many messages about this - I think. Whenever I try to go to the messages screen, the DTiVo basically locks up - nothing works except to unplug it.

I don't want to do a clear and reset everything, because I have programs on it that I still need to watch. Is there any way (hack, whatever) to clear out these messages?

You found the problem with letting too many nag messages being left on the unit. The only way to clear them now is the Clear everything option. Why not watch your shows and then clear later? Having them there really doesn't hurt anything (other than possibly making things a little slower).

It's a series 1 running the software that came on it. The last time I went in the message center, there were 364 messages. I went back a few months later and there were 364 messages. It seems to roll off old ones. I'll go back right before I retire it.
