I've got a Series 2 that is getting the great "Message 86" problem. I read the other big thread on message 86 indicating that it is related to the network adapter. TiVo's website indicates that the "solution" is to run the "Clear and Delete Everything". I don't have a problem doing this if it will actually fix the problem, except what I want to know is, does this also reset the software to the original factory setting or will the software remain 7.2? The problem really is that I don't have a phone line in the house, so if I reset to 4.2, I'll have to go somewhere to re-download the various updates. If it stays at 7.2, then I should be able to run guided setup over the network.

Any ideas?
