Charter - St. Louis - missing HBO and Cinemax (HD and SD)

Hello,

I have had 2 Series 3 Tivos working great (minus a few hard drive replacements) for as long as they have been released. My service is Charter in St. Louis, MO. Even have worked great with the tuning adapter since they went to the switched service.

About a month ago, channel 891 (PBTV) stopped working. When I change to the channel, I would see about .5 seconds of video followed by the grey bordered screen with a black inside. At the top it says "This screen is displayed on behalf of your cable provider. CableCARD 2). Inside it says "In order to start cable service for this device, please contact your cable provider 1-888-438-2427. Then is shows CableCARD(tm), Host, Data, UnitAddress, etc. The Service rep came out (of course never even heard of a Tivo or cableCARD), checked my signal and after 2 hours I just said don't worry, cancel the channel.

Then the same thing started happening recently with HBO, Cinemax, and Starz. Service Rep out today replaced cableCARDS, tuning adapters, checked/verified signals, can't figure it out. They were going to try to elevate it, but I don't have high hopes (feel like I might end up with U-Verse or DirecTV).

Anybody have anything like this happen and if so, any suggestions on what to tell Charter to get it fixed?

Your cablecard is not paired correctly and/or they need to 'ping' the card to reauthorize it.

I think he said the tech replaced the card which means they paired it or it wouldn't be working thought that doesn't mean the person entering the data didn't blow a digit but I wouldn't expect that to have the exact same problem.

Edited to say = I should correct my post to say I agree the card isn't pairing correctly but the question is why???

They tried this multiple times and it didn't work.

One thing to note is that this same problem occurred with or without the tuning adapter. Not sure if that gives any evidence as to where the problem is, but I forgot to mention it in my first post.
I had this same issue regarding HBO and Cinemax with Charter in St. Louis on my Series 3. The tech brough one M-card with him and installing that took care of the issue for the associated tuner. Based on his prior experience with another customer, he called Charter and had them remove and re-add my existing S-card from my account and treat it like a new installation. That resolved the issue for the other tuner.

Thanks so much. I will get Charter back out and ask them to try it out.

That fixed mine also...
