RI PBS Channels 36-1 & 36-2 (VHF Low Freq 2) have a strong signal strength and program info but a V53 error instead of the program.

However, the programs on these two channels show up on 2-3 & 2-4 with the same signal strength but no program info, only an asterisk *.

I have tried channel rescanning multiple times and restarting the box, multiple times. The diagnostics appear to be correct.

I am also received a very strong signal and program from Boston's PBS UHF frequency on a second Channel 2-3.

Anyone else with this problem? Any suggestions?

Thank you.

As the repack unfolded I often found odd channels with good signal but no audio/video. Typically, these disappeared after a few days. Of course the displayed channel (on TiVo or TV) may have no relation to the actual frequency; somehow TiVo (probably using downloaded data) maps the displayed channel to the actual frequency. I suspect most of these "blank" channels were repack tests.

Been like this for awhile. Thanks for replying. Tivo has been no help.

I have not been able to receive two PBS HD channels because they are on VHF Low 5, but have recently boosted their power considerable. I just assembled a new Winegard antenna, that is supposed to have good VHF low capabilities, and will test it tomorrow. they are about 38 miles away.

The 36-1 & 36-2 that show up on 2-3 & 2-4 are also VHF low, but low power. However, they are only about nine miles away and they come in fine.
