I've heard from a friend that some sort of change has been made to the website processing the vote for the mytivogetsme.com video contest.

Apparently after you register at www.mytivogetsme.com people will now have to wait for their registration (profile) to be approved before being allowed to cast a vote. Has anyone else run into that?

If so - can you describe the new process (i.e. is it now like a bank or something where they send an email that first asks you to confirm that the email address provided is in fact your email address and you were in fact trying to register at the site, or other steps) - and do you have any idea how long of a delay people are having before receiving the accepted email?

Any other thoughts or insight into the registration and voting process changes on the site?

I've had a number of problems with that site. The biggest being that it is very difficult to upload a picture (the upload window keeps going behind all my other windows) and I could never get the antenna thing to work on my portraint (they never showed up).

As for voting, I would think that registering is the only sure way to try and prevent multiple voting.

Well I just talked a remotely located coworker through the process - the site is back to the mode of register then vote is OK.

I figured they would at least do email verification, like a click this link in your email thing to make sure you actually have that email address before voting...a smaller step to help curb multiple voting...
