Yep. Tim Rogers was interviewed in Sound & Vision magazine this month and said they has struck a new partnership deal with CBS.
This has never happened to me on my Series 2 or 3.Atomike said:The last time Tivo used these, they locked my tivo up hard. When my Tivo hit these ads, I had to physically unplug my Tivo to restart it. This happened several times. Tivo users can look forward to unplugging their units many times in the future - All thanks to CBS and Tivo!! Yay!

Was this during FOX programs?Atomike said:The last time Tivo used these, they locked my tivo up hard. When my Tivo hit these ads, I had to physically unplug my Tivo to restart it. Indeed. Simpsons if I recall correctly. Was this during FOX programs?
There were multiple times during AI (Taylor Hick's year I believe) in which the thumb would still be on the screen after the promos, for my tivo that is.phox_mulder said:Was this during FOX programs?
I seem to remember FOX messing up the signal somehow a while ago.
Something in the compression that resulted in the thumb staying after the promo, or locking up everything.
It would be a MAJOR annoyance? Really?Atomike said:Indeed. Simpsons if I recall correctly.
Hopefully CBS will not have the same problems - if this "feature" works correctly, then it would merely be a major annoyance, and not a major technical disaster. One can only hope, I guess.
IIRC, a press of the Clear key would fix it.Atomike said:Indeed. Simpsons if I recall correctly.

It's data that's put in Line 21, same as the closed-captioning and ratings data. So if you're not stripping that data at some point before you air the promo, the "thumbs up to record" will be there.Einselen said:Does anyone know how this technology works? I believe I have seen the thumb during a promo that was ran by the local affiliate and not CBS corporate and I know for the local promos we do nothing special to tag them for the Tivos to know it is such and such promo.
