I am sure it would be less expensive to buy a used TiVoHD with lifetime than buy a parts machine and pay a local electronics shop to repair your TiVoHD if you can even find one that would attempt the fix. Some technically savvy friend might be willing to attempt the fix by replacing or repairing the power supply.

Replacing the power supply will not void the lifetime service.
