Can't utilize the voice button on my remote Bolt Vox OTA

I have a one year old Tivo Bolt Vox OTA. For some reason, I cannot utilize the voice button and search or generate commands by voice. I see an error message indicating that the remote isn't paired, however, I literally have full control of the Tivo and television with said remote.

What gives?

FWIW, when I look at "remotes and devices" It reads as "unknown"...whatever that means.

It sounds like you are operating in the fallback IR mode and it is not paired as it indicates and you should go through the pairing process.
