No TiVo can feed separate outputs to separate TVs.

Whatever the box is displaying, that's what both sets will get if you hook two sets up to one box.

As for what combination you do, that's entirely up to you.

How many TiVos do you want to buy? How many can you afford? How many subscriptions can you afford?

These are things you know. Not stuff we'd know about.

Yes, TiVo apparently will work with a slingbox, tho' I don't personally use one. (Others have said they do.)

You can have a Series 3 in the same house as a Series 1 or 2, naturally.

The Series 3 can handle both analog and digital.

That's about it...

Oh...

What benefit you get from a Series 1 or 2 depends on your cable service and what you have feeding into the TiVo.

Do you need a cable box to get all channels? Can a cable-ready tuner get all your channels, thus no box needed? Is your service analog or digital?

Too many variables here. Again, some of this you'd know and we wouldn't.

A Series 3, especially with cable cards, will be able to get just about ALL cable channels, except for things like VideoOnDemand and PayPerView.

Stand alone Series 1 and 2 TiVos can work with a cable box.

Series 3s cannot, but see above.
