Thought I read here that you get a 30-day sub trial with the new box when you register it and you have to decide to buy a plan or opt out before that expires. Not sure what that means to your ability to return it to Best Buy. The only real way to know your options is to call Tivo.I am looking to get a TiVo Premiere at my local Best Buy for $99 & it comes with a 30 day return policy. I want to ultimately get it with a $399 lifetime plan. If I immediately sign it up with a lifetime plan, but decide I don't like it within this 30 days & return it to Best Buy, is there any way of getting a refund? Is it easy or will it be a real pain?
The other option I have thought of is to go month-to-month for the first two billing cycles. If I like it and keep it, then upgrade it to a lifetime plan. Is this possible as well? Or is this not possible since you initially sign up for a longer commitment of some kind when doing a monthly rate?
