As an existing (not new to DirecTV) customer, does anyone know if we will be able to activate a DirecTiVo we own (or buy somewhere) after 3/1/06?

My guess is yes. Imagine the turmoil of people buying receivers then not being able to turn them on. Would be a mess. And I'm sure some of us have boxes in the closet we may want to reactivate. Also, i'm pretty sure you will still be able to buy receivers, it's just that you will pay a lot more since DTV won't subsidize the dealers anymore.

I would guess yes, just that that date is when they will no longer openly make available DirecTV TiVo DVRs themselves.
