I'm new to Tivo and want to watch a show from last Monday.....is Tivo
something that must be programed to record. Maybe I just missed out
of the last week's show. I didn't program it to do anything. Please advise.

You'd have to have a prettyyyy big hard drive (scratch that.... more like a Petabyte SAN) to record everything on every channel...

You need to record a TV Show to record. To do this open the GUIDE, find the show you want and select Record. You can record it once, or choose "System Pass" to record it every week. May I recommend 24! If you have the DirecTV HR10-250 model (you will know becuase the pricetag would break the bank), then be careful when recording High Definition programs as they use up much more space on the drive.
