In my current setup, which works fine, my Bolt is linked to my Apple Airport with an Ethernet cable and the Bolt communicates with the second-floor Mini over MoCA. But I really need to move the Airport to a different part of the house (for better signal strength), so I was hoping I could introduce an Ethernet switch (I have several Ethernet-needy devices at this location, so I bought a 5-port switch). But when I tried it (with Ethernet cables from switch to both the Bolt and to the now-distant Airport) my Mini didn't connect anymore (I forget exact errors, but sometimes it also said it couldn't find network). I fussed with settings and multiple restarts of both Bolt and Mini but had no luck. Now I'm back to my original setup and wondering whether anyone can help me. E.g., do I need to run an Ethernet cable from the Apple Airport back to the Bolt? Doable, but that requires another 50' cable. I've attempted a schematic but probably left out something critical. The gray-out items are what I'd hoped would work. I have, in case useful, a TiVo Bridge (ECB6000) still in a box, unused.

I think I found an answer, via helpful suggestions from a Facebook group. I do, indeed, have to run an Ethernet cable from Apple Extreme to switch, THEN to Bolt. I.e., can't patch cable modem directly to switch.
