Can I connect the red/white/yellow ports on my HD TiVo to an SD DVD burner?

I see the component ports are 6 colors, but are the red/white/yellow of these the same as on an S2 TiVo, meaning I could connect those to an old style SD DVD burner and burn a DVD in SD quality even if the show is an HD show?

Yes. I have a TiVo S3 connected to a SD DVD burner.

Use the S-video output instead of composite (yellow cable), to get even better recording quality.

Red, green, and blue video RCA outputs are for component video. Audio red and white RCA connectors are for right and left audio. Yellow RCA jack is for composite video. S-video is via a 4-pin mini-DIN connector.
