I'm going to swapping my Bolt VOX for a new Edge. Can my old Bolt, less the cable card be used as a mini on another tv? Or does it just get retired or should I sell it as it has no use in my setup? I have no intention of keeping a cablecard in it and paying for yearly service on that unit.

No, you cannot use tuners like a mini but you can watch recorded shows from
your Edge and use it for streaming apps if it still has a service plan and is on the same network. Otherwise it's a paper weight.

Absent an active service plan the old DVR won't be of *any* use to you.

I'm not sure that's true. I believe you can watch prior recordings even without a service plan.
