Hi,

I’m running into an odd issue with my main Bolt (a Vox 6-tuner 1TB cable model) - it refuses to downgrade. It’ll spin for a minute before popping a message about failing, and that the issue is possibly due to a bad network configuration. However, network tests pass fine and I can connect to the TiVo Service normally.
It’s running the latest 21.9.6v5, which I suspect might be the problem - I was able to downgrade my other Bolt just fine, but it was on 21.9.2v4 still.

Any ideas?

Say on TE4.
I'd rather not, even after the latest update it runs like ass - weird bugs, now ads in the guide?

Have you switched the remote to IR mode?
No, do you think it'd help? I have no trouble getting to the "Downgrading" screen with the BSC (using the key combination), it's just the downgrade itself that refuses to take.

Temporarily switching the remote to IR mode seems to be the key in many cases. Press & hold the TiVO & C buttons for about 5 seconds or until the light on the remote flashes red. TiVo + D switches it back to RF mode once you get it back to the TE3 interface.

Thanks for the tip, though IR mode did not work.

Things I've tried:

Repeat Guided Setup
Change network from Ethernet to Wi-fi (and back again)
C&DE
Kickstart 51, 52 and 58

Nothing seems to help. It's still under warranty, so I might just call Tivo support in the morning and see if I can get anywhere with them. Thinking something else might be up with it.

Better hold off, my Bolt upgraded to Hydra overnight.
Which version did you wind up getting? My neighbour's Bolt on 21.9.6 had no trouble downgrading, so it's probably not a software bug.
