My parents have a Tivo Series I Philips unit that I gave them a couple years back after I upgraded to multiple, networked Series 2 units. The daily calls are now failing with call interrupted after working fine for years.
When we force a daily call, the Tivo connects and starts downloading. After about 10 minutes (it varies), it shows call interrupted. Test calls go through without any problems.
We don't have VOIP. We do have DSL. We've tried rebooting the unit. We also tried disconnecting the DSL modem and unplugging all devices from every phone jack in the house and trying a daily call with only the Tivo connected but that too failed. We also tried several different local numbers without success.
Tivo customer service offered very little assistance, and I haven't been able to find any magic answers searching through the posts. Any ideas of what might be wrong or what else we should try doing to get it working?
